CURRENT AND FUTURE HAPPENINGS WITHIN THE SOCIETY

LANCASHIRE  DAY

This always occurs on 27th November as it is the anniversary of the day in 1295 when two Knights from Lancashire, were summoned to what later became known as the "Model Parliament " by King Edward I to represent Lancashire.

A proclamation showing our loyalty to the Sovereign is now read out on that day in many towns in Lancashire, often by the town cryer.

THE PROCLAMATION

" To: The People of The City and County Palatine of Lancaster.

GREETINGS!

Know ye that this day, November 27th In the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Ten, in the 59th Year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Duke of Lancaster - is Lancashire Day.
