The Annual Waugh's Birthday Celebration 'Suppering Do' and
Trophy Winners 2022
This took place on Tuesday 10th May.
The meat & potato pies and the cheese & onion pies were prepared by Anne Leggett Catering and were much enjoyed by everyone, as were the seconds!
Prize winners were announced and the winnings entries read out to an appreciative audience comprising members and a good number of their guests who also entertained us admirably. One of them, Ian Aitchison, won T' Kissin' Shuttle for his very funny poem, for the best performance on the evening. It was based on the Waste Removal companies who advertise on a page in the Rochdale Observer, for whom Ian writes a weekly poem on recent happenings in Rochdale.
A list of all the 2022 trophy winners is available here and photos here (more to come)

We have decided to restart our meetings again.

Marjorie Bottomley
Marjorie was a lovely lady with a wonderful sense of humour who, with great aplomb, simply loved reciting dialect poetry .
Gaye Marsh
Gaye was such a positive and caring person, with lots of interests.
She'll be sadly missed at EWDS and lots of other places we are sure.
